History

Committed and persistent shareholders with clear ambitions have made it possible for Bayerngas to follow a path of continuous growth since the start in 2006.

Successful past, encouraging future

Bayerngas Norge has been a fast growing oil-and-gas company on the Norwegian continental shelf. With more fields coming on stream the growth continues.

The company has experienced a remarkable journey since it was established in 2006. Acquisitions, exploration and development of fields have taken the company past several milestones in just a few years.

Bayerngas Norge was established in 2006 in order to be a new business for the exploitation of natural gas and oil opportunities across the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea with primary focus on gas.

A fast-growing oil-and-gas company

After the acquisition of 25 percent of the Vega Sør field from Revus in 2006, Bayerngas Norge has grown rapidly. In 2008 Bayerngas Denmark was established as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bayerngas Norge. During the following years companies and licenses were acquired in Norway, Denmark and the UK. The subsidiary Bayerngas UK was established following the acquisition of Genesis Petroleum in 2009.

In June 2009 Bayerngas Norge was prequalified as Operator on the Norwegian continental shelf and in January 2012 offered the first operatorship in Norway.

Today, 11 years after Bayerngas Norge was formally established, we have dedicated employees in modern offices in Oslo and Copenhagen and outside London. We participate in 6 fields in production, two more fields are under development and three fields under development planning . On January 17, 2017 we had our first day with more than 25,000 barrels of oil produced in one day. We aim for higher production in the years to come.

Bayerngas aims to provide a long term profitable gas and oil business and thus fulfill the ambitions of our shareholders.
