The offices were opened by the Energy Minister and Sevenoaks MP Michael Fallon. In his speech he said that when he became minister responsible for oil and gas he visited Aberdeen where the companies were complaining that congestion in the area would force them to move out. “It did not occur to me that I’d be opening one here in my own constituency of Sevenoaks”. The location, right across the street from the railway station and close to Gatwick and Heathrow, is very well situated. Bayerngas has been able to recruit people who used to commute through Sevenoaks into London. These people can now find a better balance between work and family life.
Bayerngas is located in One 60 London Road which is a modern building with ample possibilities to cater for later expansion of activities and personnel. The offices are also used by employees from Stadtwerke München working with Europe’s largest offshore wind farm project in Liverpool Bay. This is a good example of the close integration between Bayerngas and its shareholding companies.
